About The Position

Learn from Senior CME Staff and perform material testing services on commercial construction sites. Day trips in the Elmira, NY area. This internship is for summer 2026, we expect this position to be full-time hours with occasional overtime.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related
• Ability to obtain certifications through American Concrete Institute (ACI) and / or International Code Council (ICC) with full support from CME
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with construction materials, procedures, and documents a plus

Responsibilities

• Test construction materials such as soils and concrete for quality assurance on commercial sites
• Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results
• Complete each testing assignment accurately and in accordance with appropriate standards
• Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner
• Communicate regularly with direct supervisor to provide updates on project details
• Complete continuing education and preparation for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and / or International Code Council (ICC)
