Requirements

• 0 to 5 years of experience working as an engineering technician
• Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field
• Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative group

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working as an engineering technician
• Application materials must demonstrate ability to develop and produce civil engineering drawings in CADD including experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Bentley (Geopak or OpenRoads Designer)
• Strong communication skills; able to be concise and communicate effectively
• Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external disciplines
• Possess MnDOT construction inspection certifications

Responsibilities

• Engineering plan production for public works-related projects, including urban streets, highways, multi-modal and trail design
• Preparation of project plans using CADD including plan layouts, utilities, grading plans and assist with calculations and determination of pay quantities and takeoffs
• Assist project engineers / managers in a team oriented and supportive environment
• May conduct field inspection/construction observation on projects
