Your Opportunity Stantec is now accepting resumes for Summer 2026 Civil Engineering and Survey interns within our Community Development Group in San Antonio, Texas. As an intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to community development projects that may include urban design and planning, roadways, park and recreation design, multi-use trail and pathway design, traffic engineering, landscape architecture, assessment and rehabilitation, infrastructure design, water and wastewater conveyance, and storm water management. Requirements

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong interest in community development engineering disciplines
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
Ability to work independently
Must have a vehicle, good driving record, and valid driver’s license
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma and some college level courses.
Preferably pursuing a degree in civil engineering or related field.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Nice To Haves

Basic understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred

Responsibilities

Use technical and communication abilities to complete the civil component of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic design team setting
Assist with preparation of plans and specifications, reports, and other project deliverables
Attend meetings on an as needed basis
Complete detailed reports as required
Procure permits and other approvals from various agencies
Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, and other project stakeholders
Assist with CAD drafting and design, and preparation of construction documents
Perform field surveys as a member of Stantec field crews, including control, topo, drainage, and utility surveys.
Performing maintenance of traffic and safety protocols
Process Field notes and field data
Preparing Survey reports
