About The Position

S&ME is seeking a skilled Project Manager with design and permitting experience to join our Civil Services team throughout the Carolinas. We are open to hiring in several of our other North & South Carolina offices, including Charlotte, Asheville, Raleigh, Wilmington, Greensboro, Columbia, Charleston, Florence, Greenville-Spartanburg and Myrtle Beach. This is a unique opportunity for professionals with a background in the Oil & Gas industry to work on projects in the Energy Market right here in North and South Carolina. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related technical field, preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering in the energy market, with experience in the onshore oil and gas industry required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams with strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Commitment to excellence in client development, proposal writing, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Direct multi-disciplined teams on design and permitting for natural gas distribution and transmission projects, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Coordinate environmental, natural, and cultural resource assessments for projects in new and existing utility easements.
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery, including safety compliance, risk assessment, technical quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Conduct site visits and engage with clients to ensure expectations are exceeded.
  • Oversee the preparation of environmental and non-environmental permitting processes, including Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plans, Floodplain Development Permits, site grading, DOT Encroachments, Utility Encroachments.
  • Perform design for natural gas distribution and transmission pipelines and facilities.
  • Partner with leadership to identify new opportunities, prepare competitive proposals, and expand the company's client network.
