About The Position

As a Civil Engineering Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Pittsburgh, PA office, you will be responsible for client and project management, including the technical and financial management aspects of projects, as well as business development. We have openings for project managers across multiple industries, including commercial and industrial land development, oil and gas, and renewable energy. Working with Principals in the Civil/Site Practice, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand and help them achieve their goals. You will also represent the company at conferences, events, and project meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders. You will work closely with other CEC professionals locally and across the country to develop opportunities, build business relationships, and apply best practices to address client needs. You will also work closely with your Principal and Assistant Project Manager to develop project schedules, assemble a project team, and assign tasks for the project, often times coordinating with several practices (i.e. survey, geotechnical, traffic, environmental, ecological, and other practices). You will maintain involvement throughout the design of the project, mentoring junior and mid-level staff in the proper planning, design, permitting, and execution of projects, and you will conduct technical reviews of client deliverables. Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant design and permitting experience , including earth disturbance and stormwater permits, and the municipal approval process
  • B.S./M.S. in engineering (civil or environmental) or related degree
  • Civil design and permitting experience related to layout, grading, stormwater, and erosion and sediment control is required
  • Proven ability to develop business opportunities and contribute to new opportunities
  • Well established reputation and recognition in the Pennsylvania, West Virginia, or Ohio regional marketplace through relationships with environmental regulatory agencies and active engagement in trade organizations
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multi-discipline projects. For example, a project that includes survey, environmental, geotechnical, and construction phase services
  • Ability and desire to mentor junior staff

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.) preferred
