The Milwaukee office of SmithGroup is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team.

Requirements

• Completed at least their sophomore year or have graduate standing in an accredited civil engineering program by the time of the internship.
• Some experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Work on integrated design teams with landscape architecture, urban planning, and surveying.
• Develop site design drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Perform preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Compile data and prepare design solutions.
• Assist in editing technical specifications.
• Participate in design meetings.
• Receive mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Visit a construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.

Benefits

• Hourly rate of $24.00 to $25.00 per hour.
• Eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a work week.
• Hybrid work options that give interns the flexibility to work within our vibrant office culture or remotely, as needed.
• 12-week summer internships held between May-August.
