Your Opportunity Our Sacramento, California office of Stantec is seeking a part-time Engineering Intern to join our multi-disciplinary team of integrated water professionals, each committed to delivering sound and strategic consulting services to a range of local, regional, state, and federal clients.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in diverse team environments, interacting with staff, clients, and stakeholders
  • Willingness to perform field work as needed
  • In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree (minimum) or Master’s degree in civil/environmental/geotechnical engineering, or related field, and a minimum of 2 year of related undergraduate coursework.
  • Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following: Engineering feasibility analyses and design Hydrology and hydraulics Planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater infrastructure Water/wastewater treatment processes Civil or structural engineering design Geosciences

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on water projects throughout California and the western U.S.
  • Conduct technical evaluations, supporting planning and design of water supply, water treatment, wastewater collections, and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers, project engineers and staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
  • Assist technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, performing calculations for design projects, along with some exposure to CAD, GIS, and design.
  • Perform project administration including preparation of reports, gathering of information, drafting proposals and correspondence, and completing progress reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
