About The Position

As a Civil Intern at Gessner Engineering, you will contribute to the completion of Civil Engineering projects by supporting engineering teams in the drafting and design of project deliverables. Internships with Gessner Engineering uniquely feature opportunities to grow not only in your technical proficiency, but to develop as a well-rounded industry professional. Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student working towards a Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must possess at least a 3.5 GPA.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals and groups.
  • Be solutions minded. Always find a way to be part of the solution.
  • Be collaborative. Must have a positive attitude, work well with co-workers and clients.
  • Take initiative. Seek out every opportunity to do and to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a diverse group of industry professionals, from EITs to Senior PEs and PMs.
  • Coordinate across internal disciplines like survey, structural, geotechnical, etc. and external sub consultants if necessary.
  • Assist with design for a variety of projects including site plans, land development, and municipal infrastructure.
  • Visit project sites to assist with data collection and construction observation duties.
  • Manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to detail.
  • Work under the supervision and mentoring of civil engineers and designers. Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects.
