An Intern will work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office. This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy. Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned. Specific assignments and project work vary depending on the market segments. Please see below for information on each market: Transportation The Transportation group is responsible for the planning and design of bridges, highways, ports, rail systems, streets and arterials, trails, and pathways with additional focus on stakeholder outreach, traffic engineering, long-range planning, policy development. Water The Water group is responsible for the planning and design of facilities and processes related to drinking water supply, treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and more. They provide services to all levels of government and a variety of industrial clients. Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, Power Point presentation. Assist with responses to general questions. Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data. Present solutions to concerns. Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems. Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
