We are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support our coastal infrastructure team in Newport, RI for Summer 2026. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and gain experience in waterfront engineering, including structural inspections, hydrographic surveying, dredging, construction management, and more! This is your chance to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings to protect coastlines and support navigation nationwide.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or similar engineering field from an ABET-accredited program
• GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Basic experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D

Responsibilities

• Work directly with team members on various project deliverables in the dredging, environmental permitting, civil and coastal engineering fields
• Conduct topographic & hydrographic surveys and 3D drone scans with certified team members
• Assist with structural inspections and construction oversight activities
• Support design work utilizing AutoCAD
• Prepare local, state, and federal permit documents
• Assist with data management and report preparation
