About The Position

AECOM Technical Services Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering III in Glen Allen, VA. Job details: Responsible for business development, management of transportation planning studies, preliminary design studies and final design of linear transit infrastructure projects. Design of grading in Civil 3D. Coordinate details of drainage. Identify potential utility conflicts. Lead the efforts in quantity summaries. Verify resolution of client comments. Field review of existing conditions. Prepare reports to summarize design processes. Work independently with some oversight for design tasks. Coordinate work within a team environment. May telecommute.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Designing transit and transportation infrastructure, particularly in designing bus rapid transit infrastructure
  • Design software including InRoads or OpenRoads
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation
  • Assisting with the engineering design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects-including the BRT transit guideways, BRT stations, and pedestrian facilities-under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Contribute to the development of reports and documentation needed for the pursuit of federal grants
  • Coordinate among multiple disciplines including architecture, landscape architecture, ITS, communication, electrical, structural, and urban planning
