About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Graduate Designer in Anaheim, CA, to support a team of experienced engineers and consultants delivering civil engineering solutions that drive positive client outcomes. In this role, you’ll assist with engineering analysis and design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading designs while learning and growing your civil engineering skillset. You’ll also collaborate across project teams to help meet budgets, schedules, and client expectations. You’ll support civil design work including site drainage and grading and water/sewer systems for private and municipal clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
  • 1 year of experience minimum in the building design consulting industry required
  • Proficient skills or knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3Dsoftware and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible
  • Developing proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenge
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare designs for water and sewer systems for smaller private and larger municipal systems
  • Prepare grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential site plans
  • Support surface modeling, water shed modeling, storm sewer design, and sanitary sewer design using engineering software
  • Interact with clients to gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively
  • Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities to help meet project deadlines and objectives
  • Assist with documenting design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
  • Analyze low to moderate complexity engineering tasks and propose practical, efficient solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultants
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance by interpreting state and local design criteria and applying it to specific project needs, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
