Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with 10+ years of experience in structural engineering
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain PE
  • Experience managing structural engineering design projects
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and permitting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • To be self-disciplined/motivated who also works well in a team environment
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to worksites, meetings with clients, and attend conferences
  • To be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, restrictions, or need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located
  • To occasionally travel out-of-town and overnight for professional development and/or project-related work

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implementing, and tracking a business plan for service line
  • Coordinate long-term strategic pursuits
  • Communicate directly with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention
  • Determine staffing needs, recruiting and retaining staff in service line
  • Work with executive team to coordinate service line plan with overall company goals
  • Work with internal staff to ensure projects meet established deadlines, specifications, budgets, and client expectations
  • Succession planning for all service line staff/positions
  • Manage, mentoring, and assisting staff with individual development
  • Responsible for developing and managing overall service line budget, including:
  • Oversight/tracking of all project budgets/profitability
  • Company/service line overhead (including coordination across service lines)
  • Review/approval of contracts and proposals
  • Identify capital purchases and software needs
  • Coordination and approval of staff training
  • Marketing/Business Development
  • Tracking and forecasting service line backlog
  • Oversight/tracking of all service line project schedules
