We're looking for a detail-driven Civil Engineering Designer to join our Aviation Engineering Group in Albuquerque, NM. If you're ready to put your AutoCAD Civil 3D expertise to work on projects that matter-this is your opportunity. The Role You'll Play: You'll support a team of engineers and project managers in delivering high-quality design solutions for airport infrastructure projects, from runways and taxiways to drainage and lighting layouts. You'll help bring ideas to life through precise drafting, modeling, and plan production using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and contribute to cost estimating and presentation graphics that help guide decision-making. This is a role where your technical skill and attention to detail directly impact the success of complex engineering projects.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (2-year) or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in civil engineering design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with strong command of alignments, surfaces, corridors, and plan production workflows
  • Experience in runway/taxiway design, roadway or site grading, and drainage design
  • Comfortable working independently while coordinating with broader design teams
  • You're a self-starter who thrives with light guidance and clear goals
  • You're flexible, dependable, and enjoy contributing across multiple teams
  • You take pride in your precision and eye for detail
  • You welcome feedback and constantly seek better ways to deliver great work

Responsibilities

  • Design & Drafting -- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop alignments, surfaces, corridors, and layouts for aviation-focused projects such as runways, taxiways, drainage, and grading.
  • Project Support -- Assist engineering teams with material quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and plan production with minimal guidance from senior engineers.
  • Visualization & Presentation -- Prepare technical graphics for reports, presentations, and planning documents that support both client engagement and internal coordination.
  • Team Collaboration -- Work across multiple teams and disciplines, adapting quickly and bringing consistency and quality to each project you touch.
