About The Position

The Civil Engineering Construction Inspector will perform civil engineering construction inspection duties, which include inspecting roads, sidewalks, bike paths, bridges, buildings, structures, sewers, water mains, landfills, and environmental projects. The role involves plan review and inspection of construction, ordinance enforcement, traffic control, and basic design-drafting-surveying tasks. The inspector will also perform drafting duties required in support of civil engineering projects, including computer-aided drafting (currently AutoCAD), records and data management, and office work associated with surveying and construction inspection functions. The work requires a range of competencies in various areas.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• Minimum 3 years progressive construction inspection experience
• Must attend all Safety Training required by Supervisor or Regulatory agencies
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering construction inspection of roads, sidewalks, bike paths, bridges, buildings, structures, sewers, water mains, landfills, and environmental projects.
• Conduct plan review and inspection of construction projects.
• Enforce ordinances related to construction.
• Manage traffic control during construction activities.
• Perform basic design, drafting, and surveying tasks as required.
• Conduct field surveying and office work associated with surveying requirements.
• Assist in construction inspection and basic design tasks.
