As a Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Pittsburgh, PA office, you will work with project teams to create civil engineering site development designs, develop permitting and construction plans, and prepare municipal zoning and land development applications for our commercial, industrial, institutional, and energy clients. From solar farms to major university expansions and steel mills to natural gas facilities, you’ll take part in designing site layouts, site grading, erosion and sedimentation controls, stormwater management facilities, and site utilities. Interacting with clients, contractors, and local government officials, you’ll impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction, all the way to the grand opening. You will work closely with our Project Managers and Principals in our civil/site practice to plan and execute projects, communicate with clients, develop new client opportunities, and grow your career. You’ll coordinate with other practices (including geotechnical engineering, environmental, ecological, and other practices) to address project-specific needs. You will also mentor junior staff on technical items and have the opportunity to attend industry organization and client meetings. At CEC, our employees enjoy a flexible work schedule, with hybrid options. Our comprehensive benefits package includes bonus recognition, based on performance, as well as participation in our employee stock ownership program. Additionally, we conduct mid-year and end-of-year performance reviews and provide goal-setting opportunities. Endless perks are available to employees at CEC! Our office boasts a full-scale gym, café serving breakfast and lunch, and recreation rooms—creating the perfect balance of wellness and productivity. Throughout the year, employees enjoy ping pong, pool, cornhole, and pickleball tournaments as well as the annual summer picnic, themed happy hours, and fun team building activities including go-kart racing and curling! We also understand the importance of reaching beyond the office and giving back to the community—CEC employees volunteer for trail workdays to enhance local parks, maintain a CEC-designed pollinator garden for our office campus, and organize an annual charity golf tournament. At CEC Pittsburgh, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of connection, collaboration, and growth within the office and in our community.
