About The Position
AECOM has a position available for a Civil Engineer to join our Transportation Construction Business Line supporting large multi-year projects located in Raleigh, NC. Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Prepares and reviews working drawings, drainage plans, cost estimates, drainage studies and technical reports. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures with a focus on highway drainage design and hydraulics. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. Design and analysis of drainage design, hydraulic structures and erosion control. Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered. Identifies discrepancies in results. Provides guidance to entry level engineers. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision. Assists in the preparation of environmental impact assessments and mitigation plans for highway projects. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of civil engineering elements with other aspects of project design. Utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify engineering drawings and plans. Participates in site visits and field inspections to gather data and assess existing conditions. Contributes to the development of project specifications and contract documents. Assists in the coordination with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
