About The Position

Columbia Engineering is actively seeking a talented Civil Engineer. You will work with a team of engineers to perform work on various projects.

Columbia is a Georgia small business consulting firm headquartered in Duluth, Georgia with offices in Florida. We offer professional services for civil site, transportation, water resources, land planning, landscape architecture, institutional design, as well as arborist services, land acquisition, construction management and surveying for public and private clients. Our proficient professional staff are licensed in multiple states as civil engineers, landscape architects, land planners and land surveyors, with several holding the distinction of LEED® Accredited Professional.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
• Computer knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
• Experience with the following software: Autodesk Civil 3D ArcMap or other GIS software SWMM based models Microstation/Inroads/Openroads
• Working in a team environment to complete projects in budget and on schedule
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety and environmental requirements
• Can perform critical thinking tasks accurately and efficiently
• Balance multiple project workloads and deadlines (time management skills)
• Willingness to work collaboratively as a valued member of the team to serve our clients both internal and external
• Ability to work semi-autonomously/remotely and still be productive

Responsibilities

• Preparing construction plans for projects involving storm pipe, culverts, water and sewer lines, spillways, and more
• Grading, drainage calculations, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
• Creating roadway drainage plans
• Site layout, plan development, grading, details, and erosion control design for parks
