About The Position

Bohannan Huston is currently seeking a full-time experienced Civil Engineer to work in our Aviation Engineering Group in our Albuquerque, NM office.
As a Civil Engineer in the Aviation Engineering Group, you will be involved in numerous tasks working with experienced engineers and managers to develop and deliver engineering solutions for airport clients throughout New Mexico in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and guidelines and Owner (Sponsor) requirements. The successful candidate will provide design and technical assistance to the engineers and technicians in the work group in the preparation of construction plans (utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D), technical specifications and contract documents with an understanding of budget and schedule constraints. You will also provide assistance with managing engineering projects, preparation of task orders and other contracting mechanisms, as well as provide assistance to more experienced engineers in the group while mentoring younger members of the team.
Who You Are
You have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
You have earned your PE license in New Mexico or have the ability to obtain within 6 months.
You have 5 to 10 years' minimum experience in civil engineering in aviation or for government clients (municipal, state or federal).
You have a desire to learn all aspects of aviation civil engineering. Previous design experience such as runway/taxiway design, airport planning, drainage, and airfield lighting design for airport projects is a plus.
You have a positive attitude and enjoy being part of a dynamic team that focuses on providing technically excellent solutions for airport clients on time and under budget.
You can travel to locations across the state for project and client development and during construction/post construction activities.
You are fluent in Civil 3D.
You have experience working with spreadsheets.
You have excellent written and verbal communication, are a great listener, and are prompt, polished, and specific in your responses.
You are determined, organized, and detail oriented.
You are customer focused.
You have an entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to learn and grow.
