Because of our growth, we are seeking experienced Civil Engineer Interns in the Houston, TX and San Antonio, TX area. Join us for an internship experience that offers real-world project involvement within a supportive environment alongside ample opportunities for professional and personal growth. At this time, we are seeking 1 Hydrologic and Hydraulic Interns in our Katy, TX and San Antonio office for the Summer semester (May/June-August). This internship will be a full-time position working 40 hours a week. The Hydrologic and Hydraulic Intern will work alongside the Woolpert infrastructure teams working on flood control and impact analysis projects as well as supporting our task leads. Work can include projects for TxDOT, municipalities, large cities, and counties. All these projects directly impact the communities where we live and work.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status
  • Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, with an interest in water/ hydrology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Exceptional multitasking and time management skills
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the industry leading H&H team.
  • Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside licensed engineers that are experts in their fields.
  • Assist on a variety of projects doing such things as impact analysis, calculations, and flood control structure design
  • Work on software and systems such as ArcGIS, ArcMap, XPSWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS
  • Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients.
  • Go on 1-2 site visits and see the projects we work on
  • Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
