About The Position

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Power Delivery Pacific Civil Structural Substation Department in Lake Oswego, Oregon. This role focuses on engineering design for electrical substations and offers a remote, hybrid, or in-office working environment. Remote employees may travel to a company office for periodic meetings.

Requirements

• BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an accredited college
• 2+ years civil design experience
• AutoCAD 2015 or newer, and Civil 3D experience
• Mechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail
• Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

Nice To Haves

• MicroStation Inroads design experience
• Ability to perform calculations to size culverts, ditches, and retention/detention facilities using stormwater modeling software
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date and ability to obtain licensure in multiple states

Responsibilities

• All aspects of substation civil design including permitting support, site layout, grading design, stormwater analysis, survey coordination, and civil construction inspection
• Development of civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules
• Support of substation physical design and equipment layout
• Occasional travel will be required
