About the position
PRIME AE Group, Inc., a top 500 ENR-ranked multi-disciplined architectural and engineering firm with 23 offices in 10 States and over 500 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast, is seeking a Civil Engineer - Site Civil to join our Lexington, KY office. The focus of this role will be to focus in the design and aid in the management of projects that will include water/wastewater and land development | site development projects. All projects will include a facet of planning and design aspects. This role will be for both private development clients and public municipalities. Site/Land Development will include grading design, roadway and parking design, stormwater management system design, storm water management design, erosion and sediment control design, and construction detailing and specifications. The Water and Wastewater portion of the role will address water distribution and storage, booster pump stations, water treatment, wastewater collection and pump stations, wastewater treatment, water and wastewater design.
Responsibilities
- Outline project objectives and timelines for completion and effectively communicate them to involved parties throughout project.
- Serve as a point of contact with assigned clients through frequent communication methods and help facilitate client meetings.
- Aid in the preparation of project proposals.
- Direct and mentor younger engineers and technicians acting as a team resource on engineering issues.
- Communicate project status and performance to Project Managers.
- Monitor project progress to ensure adherence with scope and schedule.
- Assure project documentation and reporting are accurately maintained.
- Oversee coordination with clients as well as outside agencies and consultants for procurement of sub-consultant needs and jurisdictional reviews.
- Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other internal departments.
- Provide resolution to client and project issues.
- Develop and grow business relationships with new and existing client contacts.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) is required.
- Minimum 7 years working as a Project Engineer related to water/wastewater and/or Site Development or Land Development Projects.
- Experience working with local communities is preferred.
- Experience in Business Development strongly preferred.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Deltek.
- Excellent communication and delegation skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
