We are looking for a Civil Engineer – Roadway Project Manager, with experience in Illinois Department of Transportation projects to support our CDI mission in Building Stronger Communities.   • Managing transportation engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design and coordinating work with other staff and design team members
  • Signing/sealing work as required
  • Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials
  • Design and plan production for municipal roadways, interstate highways, intersections, interchanges, ADA compliant sidewalks and multi-use facilities
  • Provide roadway design elements including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, intersection layout, drainage design, pedestrian facility design, utilities conflict and relocations, as well as other roadway design tasks
  • Work collaboratively with CDI Service Leaders, Project Engineers, and other team members to develop effective project solutions
  • Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types
  • Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety and QA/QC procedures
  • Being able to lead a project that includes collaboration with the team, as well as managing tasks and being responsive to client needs
  • Strong technical skills in transportation engineering and roadway design
  • Project management experience with Illinois Department of Transportation projects
  • Highly proficient with roadway design software; MicroStation/Open Roads Designer (ORD)
  • Experience with Highway/Roadway Design and Plan Production
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while possessing strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a four-year college or university
  • Registered PE
  • 5 –15 plus years’ experience
