About The Position

Huitt-Zollars, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer - Project Manager with a minimum of 6 - 8 years of experience located in Seattle, WA. This Project Manager position should have experience in the management and design of a wide-range of land development, transportation, and public works projects for various industrial, commercial and/or residential development projects. Duties include but are not limited to initial project and code research, civil engineering design, plan and specification production, management of production staff, client and stakeholder coordination, construction administration and project close out, business development and project pursuit efforts.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must be a licensed PE in Washington State with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience.
  • Experience with producing accurate and complete construction plans and reports.
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment and to manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to work directly with clients and directing a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, communicating engineering information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to train staff and review work for quality assurance.
  • Solid leadership and management skills, self-motivated, and possess a strong ability to meet deadlines, satisfy clients, and solve complex problems.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil3D are all a plus.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Willingness/ability to assume increased responsibilities when presented.
  • Consistently deliver proactive communication with clients.
  • Develop relationships with clients that allows for ease in communications and problem-solving.
  • Troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions, effectively implement and document for internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil3D.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Lead Civil Engineer.
  • Prepare preliminary engineering reports.
  • Research jurisdictional requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
  • Prepare of proposal/contract and of project work plans and schedule.
  • Prepare design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and information obtained from research activities.
  • Coordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work.
  • Prepare GIS exhibits using ArcGIS.
  • Conduct site visits and documents findings.
  • Work directly with clients and directing a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise.
  • Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence.
  • Support preparation of project proposals, scopes, budgets, and manage execution and tracking of projects.
  • Track and update project performance metrics.
  • Assist with preparation of invoicing documentation and manage ARs.
