We’re hiring a Civil Engineer / Project Manager to own commercial, multifamily, and select industrial land development projects end-to-end—from due diligence through construction closeout. You’ll lead scopes, schedules, budgets, and teams while serving as a trusted partner to clients and agencies in the Boise market. Collaborating closely with KM’s Land Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Surveying departments you’ll lead the full project lifecycle: entitlement & due diligence; site/civil design (grading, drainage, utilities, paving, earthwork); permitting & approvals; construction administration support; and closeout.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • Idaho PE (or ability to obtain by comity within 6 months)
  • 7+ years of progressive experience delivering site/civil land development—preferably commercial and multifamily—with demonstrated project ownership from concept through construction
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; strong plan production, grading/drainage design, utility design, and understanding of jurisdictional requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and client-facing skills; proven ability to lead teams and coordinate stakeholders.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships—setting expectations, facilitating decisions, and communicating progress.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery across internal teams and subconsultants.
  • Develop design packages and QC standards; review plans and calculations; conduct QA/QC to ensure accuracy and constructability.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes, and fees; track performance; and drive predictable delivery and profitability.
  • Mentor and develop project engineers and designers; foster a collaborative, learning culture.
  • Navigate Boise-area permitting with agencies such as City of Boise, Ada County Highway District (ACHD), and Ada County Development Services; for stormwater, coordinate Idaho DEQ IPDES Construction General Permit compliance where applicable.
