About The Position

The Civil Engineer P.E. position involves performing complex professional engineering work in the research, planning, design, and construction of waterworks capital and/or maintenance projects. The role includes coordinating the work of professional and technical staff and performing related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess the appropriate education and experience related to the design and construction of potable water conveyance systems, demonstrate the ability to prepare, oversee, coordinate, and review the work of professional and technical personnel, and be able to efficiently perform accurate engineering calculations and cost estimates. Proficiency in preparing and reviewing complex plans, specifications, legal documents, technical reports, and studies is essential for making data-based decisions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are also required.

Requirements

• Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering.
• Three years of responsible professional civil engineering experience, preferably in a water utility.
• Certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of Nevada.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in contract administration and project management.
• Knowledge of public relations and micro-computer applications pertaining to the work.
