About The Position

As a Civil Engineer -In-Training or Designer, you will be an integral part of the design team responsible for producing construction documents for Civil site projects. This position will utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software as a drafting and design tool. In this role, you will gain an understanding of site systems and water/wastewater design on a variety of building construction projects. You will work under the guidance of a senior engineer as you learn the Civil consulting profession. Cushing Terrell is a multidisciplinary design firm with 17 offices and more than 500 team members, dedicated to delivering holistic built environments and creating sustainable systems and spaces.

Requirements

• ABET accredited degree in Civil Engineering
• 2 to 5 years job related experience within the US
• Base knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work with engineering concepts in real world applications
• Strong technical writing skills
• Ability to do basic calculations
• Understand the fundamentals of civil engineering
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Has Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
• Preferred at least 2+ years of job related expereince within the US

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a licensed project engineer
• Plan layouts of small projects and coordinate with other departments
• Provide basic research into jurisdictional requirements
• Preparation of project plans and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
• Preparation of engineering calculations
• Preparation of technical memorandums and reports
• Construction administration including, but not limited to, onsite field observation
