About The Position

As a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) at Walker Partners, you will work alongside our experienced engineering, surveying, and construction management teams to be exposed to many different aspects of the civil engineering industry. As a valuable addition to our company, you will assist your project team and collaborate with our engineers to design drainage, streets, paving and grading plans, stormwater systems, water distribution and transmission systems, wastewater collection systems, and prepare master plans and reports for municipal and land development projects. This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a variety of civil engineering disciplines while following projects through every step of the engineering process. From conceptual design and coordination, to assisting with the bidding process and supporting construction management- you'll be involved in delivering projects from cradle to grave!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (from ABET Accredited Civil Engineering Program)
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification
  • 2-5 years of experience in municipal infrastructure and/or land development projects
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) - required

Responsibilities

  • Use technical software, including but not limited to AutoCAD Civil3D, HEC-RAS, Hydroflow, EPANet, Flowmaster, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel, to develop, analyze, and quality-check engineering plans and technical specifications
  • Support civil engineering efforts - including planning, design, and permitting - across a diverse portfolio of municipal and land development projects
  • Work side-by-side with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to tackle complex challenges and bring our clients' infrastructure and development goals to life
  • Build working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations while gaining familiarity with Walker Partners' quality standards and client specific procedures
