About The Position

AECOM's Water Business Line is actively seeking a Civil Engineer III for employment in the West Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. The successful candidate will work with Project Managers and other technical disciplines on all project phases to deliver a variety of water, wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • Experience as a Professional Engineer in municipal water/wastewater and stormwater infrastructure engineering design projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with a diverse audience.
  • Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative.
  • Experience in construction phase services.
  • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully work with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated proven track record of leading technical engineering and successfully designing water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services focused on municipal water/wastewater, stormwater, and resiliency projects.
  • Serve as a technical resource and advisor for the team.
  • Communicate project tasks between offices, requiring high levels of coordination and communication skills.
  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Oversee construction phase engineering services.
  • Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives.
