Civil Engineer III - Land Development

RETTEW is seeking a Civil Engineer III to join our Land Development team. In this role, you’ll lead technical design efforts and support project delivery across diverse and complex land development projects. Locations: Lancaster, Lehigh Valley, Berwyn Work Environment: Hybrid 3 What You’ll Do As a Civil Engineer III in Land Development, you will manage and execute engineering tasks on projects of varying scale, ensuring high-quality deliverables and technical excellence. You’ll provide design oversight, mentor team members, and serve as a trusted technical resource for clients and colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 8+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D and related design software.
- Strong knowledge of local and state land development regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Project management experience and ability to oversee budgets/schedules.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Client-facing experience in proposal development and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis for site development, stormwater, grading, utilities, and erosion/sedimentation control.
- Oversee preparation of engineering reports, construction documents, and permit applications.
- Ensure compliance with municipal, state, and federal regulations.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
- Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and environmental staff to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, representing RETTEW’s capabilities and expertise.
- Support quality assurance/quality control for deliverables.
