The Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM), Storm Water Quality Division, is recruiting for two (2)Civil Engineer IIpositions located at Kapolei Hale. These Positions Are Responsible For: Professional engineering projects related to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Storm Water Management Program. Planning, design, construction management, product evaluation, research & development, system optimization, database management, and Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping. These positions may also involve participation in periodic and temporary cross training and supplementary work exercises and activities in support of other branches within the division to comply with its regulatory obligations of the City's storm water permit. Requirements

  • At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
  • Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.
  • One (1) year of non-registered professional civil engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of general civil engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering mathematics.
  • Knowledge of engineering mechanics and the mechanics of materials.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of topographic surveying.
  • Knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and sanitary engineering principles and practices to the extent these apply to the general field of civil engineering.
  • Ability to do engineering drafting and simple design work.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications and land descriptions.
  • Ability to plot survey notes.
  • Ability to prepare maps, plans, profiles and cross-sections.
  • Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (Type 3), as required.
