Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Civil Engineer II with an emphasis on Water Resources. This position will primarily consist of engineering studies and design efforts on a variety of municipal drainage, and general civil engineering projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. We are seeking qualified applicants for our Orlando or West Palm Beach, FL This position provides the opportunity to learn a vast amount of engineering knowledge. It is understood that applicants may not have experience in every duty listed.

Requirements

  • 4-year B.S. degree in Civil or related Engineering, with emphasis in water resources engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • E.I.T (Engineer in Training) certification required. (Applicants without a Professional Engineer license will be expected to sit for the P.E. exam once the required years of experience for the exam is met).
  • Knowledge of basic principles of infrastructure design and plan preparation.
  • Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, preferably using ICPR4/Stormwise.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Strong verbal,puter, andanizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman service area (own transportation).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous project management experience preferred but not required. Candidates with little to no project management experience will have the opportunity to learn and gain valuable project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Hydraulic and hydrologic modeling designs for drainage basins, water quality improvement, and stormwater collection systems.
  • Assistance designing drainage systems, and local roadways.
  • Traffic studies and design of roadway pavement condition and rehabilitation, widening, improvements, etc.
  • Performing analyses using Geographic Information System (GIS) tools.
  • Assistance preparing stormwater master planning reports.
  • Review and planning of stormwater, roadway, infrastructure improvements, and implementation of sustainable design elements as they relate to water quality and Sea Level Rise resiliency.
  • Assist with construction engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
  • Assist other project engineers and managers as needed during project delivery.
