About The Position

AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Engineer II to join their well-established Remediation business line in Glen Allen. This role focuses on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a diverse client base in both private and public sectors. The selected candidate will be responsible for executing large and complex engineering projects, offering a comprehensive range of planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services. The successful candidate will need to communicate effectively with project teams, clients, site personnel, and office management, working both independently and collaboratively. Key aspects of the role include commitment to team success, rigorous application of safety policies, managing technical, cost, and schedule elements of project delivery, and ensuring quality within the AECOM Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience using Civil 3D and AutoCAD applications
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

Nice To Haves

  • Masters' Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental investigations and site remediation
  • Ability to proactively lead Remediation technical efforts and project team staff.
  • Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large scale projects in Environment
  • Experience with planning or implementing redevelopment projects for Remedial Design
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Experience with construction documentation, construction management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong technical report writing skills and the ability to develop design specifications

Responsibilities

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
