About The Position

As a Water Resources Civil Engineer I at KLJ Engineering, you will be instrumental in analyzing, designing, and developing infrastructure related to water supply, stormwater management, and environmental protection. This role emphasizes collaboration within a dynamic team to deliver high-quality projects that positively impact communities and the environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus in Water Resources or a closely related discipline.
  • Excellent research skills with analytical capabilities.
  • Familiarity with professional water resources engineering concepts related to water supply, quality, management, and treatment.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with engineering and non-engineering personnel.
  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, predictive models, and spreadsheets.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific needs.

Responsibilities

  • Study water cycles and directions to determine the influence of weather and environmental forces.
  • Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise engineering work.
  • Assist with performing basic professional water resources engineering work related to various water management and treatment facilities.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide entry-level technical assistance on environmental issues.
  • Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field notebooks.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures, including maintenance of sample collection and documentation.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to KLJ's policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by the business.
