Your Opportunity Stantec's New England Transportation group is looking for a Civil Engineer - EIT in Auburn, NH. We are looking for a Civil Engineer - EIT with an interest in roadway design, site design, hydrology, hydraulics, utilities, and stormwater treatment. This entry-level position is for an individual that understands Civil Engineering design fundamentals from education, internship, co-op, or other work experience. This person will have a positive attitude, be a fast learner, and enjoy working in a team environment. What Will You Be Doing? As a Civil Engineer - EIT, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and diverse projects in the region and will be joining a growing team of transportation professionals and contribute to projects throughout New Hampshire and New England.

Requirements

  • Exposure to a computer aided design and drafting software via course work or internship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pro-active attitude, attention to detail, desire to learn, punctual, and organized.
  • Ability to work independently when required.
  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-3 years' experience.
  • EIT (or ability to obtain within 1 year)

Responsibilities

  • Use design software on a daily basis to support the design development process
  • Prepare design calculations and quantity take-offs for construction cost estimates.
  • Perform project research and analyze/present data in tabular or graphic format.
  • Contribute to engineering reports and technical studies.
  • Conduct field visits during the design development process.
  • Attend client, agency, and public meetings to see the different phases of a project first-hand.
  • Receive training and mentorship.
  • Be a valued member of project teams.
