About The Position

Founded in 1998 with the specific mission of providing integrated ecological and engineering consulting services, Princeton Hydro offers mission-driven expertise in natural resource management, water resources engineering, geotechnical design and investigation, and regulatory compliance. We are hiring a Civil Engineer to join our team at our Trenton, NJ headquarters. Our Trenton office is conveniently located just south of the Trenton Transit Station along the Northeast Corridor rail line, with a River Line Light Rail Transit stop at the building. We are looking for a creative thinker with a passion for designing wetlands, restoring streams, and implementing other nature-based solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical, or water resources engineering (or related field) from an ABET-accredited university
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • 0-3 years of applicable work experience
  • EIT certification (preferred)
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary projects involving design, permitting, and construction oversight
  • Experience with hydrologic modeling (HMS, HydroCAD) and hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS – steady and unsteady flow)
  • Experience with GIS

Responsibilities

  • Grow as an engineer by performing technical analyses and calculations for civil engineering applications including stormwater management, river and wetland restoration, and dam removal/restoration
  • Collaborate with your manager to solve engineering challenges and progressively take on project ownership
  • Assist with preparing design plans, technical specifications, engineer’s estimates, and critical path project schedules
  • Perform construction-related fieldwork and/or oversight (e.g., stream surveys and restoration, dam inspections, stormwater management facilities)
  • Be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers committed to improving ecosystems, communities, and quality of life.
