Civil Engineer Designer
About The Position
As a Civil Engineer Designer (CED), supporting our Civil Engineering Team in our Santa Ana, CA office at Psomas, you'll utilize your education and experience to contribute to work performed on a variety of site development and public works projects while working in a team-oriented setting and interacting with clients. The Santa Ana Civil Engineering team is a dynamic group with a mixture of seasoned engineers and emerging professionals who work collaboratively. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in civil engineering and design
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D and proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Demonstrate an organized work approach and willingness to ask questions
- Ability to adapt with changing priorities
- Self-motivated to work on individual tasks and in a team environment
- Must be able to communicate with verbal and written clarity
Nice To Haves
- EIT Certification (or can obtain within 2 years of hire)
- Knowledge of stormwater quality and SWPPP
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a project team on a broad range of projects in both private and public development.
- Assist with design of grading/drainage; earthwork analysis; street improvements; water, sewer, and storm drain utility systems; stormwater quality treatment measures; demolition plans; and site plan development using AutoCAD and Civil3D software
- Under supervision, prepare technical reports, including hydraulics, hydrology, water/sewer/drainage calculations; cost/quantity estimates; and specifications
- Support other team members as needed
- Perform field verifications and participate in site visits and meetings
