About The Position

As a Civil Engineer Designer supporting our Water Resources engineering team in our Tucson office, you'll be utilizing and expanding your skills to assist our team with planning, analyses and design of stormwater, flood control, water, wastewater and recycled water infrastructure projects including streambank stabilization and linear parks, pipelines, and related facilities. Other responsibilities include hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, utility investigations and coordination, permit processing, design calculations, field verification of existing infrastructure, report preparation and assisting managers in executing projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
  • 0-3 years of experience in civil engineering design
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D and MS Office Suite
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt with changing priorities
  • Self-motivated to work on individual tasks and in a team environment
  • Must be able to communicate with verbal and written clarity

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification or can be obtained within 2 years of hire
  • Interest in sustainable designs and concepts
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
  • Experience using GIS software

Responsibilities

  • Work under close supervision, providing support to a project team
  • Help with the development of projects and conventional aspects of engineering
  • Utilize GIS for data processing and analyses
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic calculations using the latest software and models
  • Prepare drainage design for roadway, park and site developments
  • Investigate and support utility design
  • Preparation of technical reports, memorandums and exhibits
  • Preparation of Construction Plans, Specifications and Cost Estimates
  • Attend and participate in site visits and client meetings
  • Support other team members as needed
