About The Position

As a project engineer at Cushing Terrell, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to designing innovative built environments that enhance communities. This role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and planners to create project plans and specifications, ensuring that projects are completed from conception to final design with minimal oversight. You will engage with clients to establish project goals and contribute to the overall vision of the firm.

Requirements

  • 4 to 10 years of project experience.
  • ABET accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A Professional Engineering License in the State of job posting or other states preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills of AutoCAD Civil 3D, proficient with WaterCAD, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, ArchGIS, as well as Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work with engineering concepts in real world applications.
  • Ability to work independently as a project engineer on various projects.
  • Proficiency in technical writing.
  • Ability to take small to medium sized projects from conception to final design with little input from a senior engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project plans and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to produce preliminary concepts and drawings.
  • Complete cost estimates and research codes and/or jurisdictional requirements.
  • Develop positive external and internal client relationships and participate in meetings with either internal or external clients to determine project goals.
  • Prepare calculations, technical memorandums, and reports.
  • Conduct construction administration including onsite field observation.
  • Support design teams in partnership with architects, engineers, and business professionals.
