About the position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Civil Engineer with three to six years of working experience, who wants to be a part of our office growth and culture. The successful candidate will have a desire to work, grow, and have fun with a multi-discipline engineering team that has recently been recognized as one of the Denver area’s best places to work by the Denver Business Journal! This position will support the team in providing our clients with all aspects of civil engineering, including land development design, site layouts, grading plans, storm water management facilities, water quality best management practices, utility design, and multidiscipline coordination. Our regional Civil Engineering department consists of a small, but growing, team of professionals that enjoy leveraging our collective experience to deliver innovative solutions focused on our clients’ success. Responsibilities

  • Support the team in providing all aspects of civil engineering.
  • Design land development projects including site layouts and grading plans.
  • Manage storm water management facilities and water quality best management practices.
  • Coordinate utility design and multidiscipline efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited college or university in Civil Engineering.
  • From three to six (3 – 6) years of experience in the civil engineering profession.
  • EIT certification required.
  • PE license or ability to obtain within two years.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to work on a highly motivated team and think outside the box.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and simple graphics.
  • Possess technical writing skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as on teams.
  • Design and specify basic grading, stormwater management, and utility systems.
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Interest and ability to advance to a senior engineer or project manager role.
