Reporting to the Director, Civil/Structural Design, the Civil Engineer 2 / Track Design Lead will oversee the production of design documents for projects that include rail infrastructure including non-station facilities, rail maintenance shops, rail yards, and towers. The position will ensure compliance with applicable building codes and design criteria established for rail infrastructure projects. The position will be responsible for coordination with the Metra stakeholder departments as well as external railroads. Incumbents work under both inside and outside environmental conditions under prevailing conditions of heat, cold, rain, and snow.
