About The Position

Civil Engineer I, Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc., Indianapolis, IN Duties: Receives supervision on all aspects of assignments. Acquire basic industry knowledge and skills while working under a Professional Engineer (PE). Complete assigned tasks of limited complexity including design, analysis, and technical writing. Responsible for personal task management and adherence to provided deadlines and project scope. Utilize technical software to support the planning and design of infrastructure projects. May perform construction observation and/or site inspection to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications. Submit work for review and approval in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations, as advised and directed by managers. Perform construction observation and documentation during ongoing construction projects. Perform other duties as assigned. No hire/fire authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field.
  • Must have experience with design techniques, tools, and civil engineering principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and design models.
  • Must have experience reviewing technical construction documentation, construction specifications, and material requirements.
  • Must have experience with techniques and principles involved in the production of technical studies, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimating.
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design/analysis software.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with construction management and inspections.
  • Experience with pavement design and pavement management.
  • 20% regional travel required year-round: 60% regional travel required during summer months.
  • Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days a week, but applicant must remain within a reasonable commuting distance from Indianapolis, IN Crawford, Murphy & Tilly office
