About The Position

Timmons Group is looking for a talented Civil Designer or Senior Civil Designer to join our dynamic Land Development Group in Charleston, SC. The qualified individual will perform civil site design tasks for a variety of land development projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs. Lead and execute civil site design tasks across diverse land development projects. Collaborate closely with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers. Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure technical accuracy. Make impactful design decisions that align with client goals and project timelines. Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges. Support construction oversight and respond to contractor inquiries. Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications. Acts as technical expert on assigned projects when operating as an individual contributor and acts as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • An ideal candidate will have at least five years of civil design experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop financial project management skills through assigned project work and assigned project management assignments.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, professional mindset with a focus on client success.
