As a Designer III, you will be responsible for the design phases related to projects for the land development industry. Your design work will encompass site, grading, utility, on-site and municipal wastewater systems, storm water systems, road work, flood studies/mitigation, and state and local permitting. You will perform work under very limited supervision, requiring the need to exercise independent judgment and discretion on a regular or frequent basis. Although this position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities, you will serve as a lead/resource among a team of colleagues in equivalent roles, sharing technical proficiency, guidance, and mentorship. You may also assist in the delegation of assignments or provide feedback to managers. In this role, you will produce drawings using computer-assisted drafting systems (AutoCAD and Civil 3D), prepare and review drawings to communicate engineering or architectural ideas, and create and document concepts, sketches, models, layouts, submittals, instructions, and complete production packages. You will perform design calculations, prepare material and equipment specifications, and provide sketches and notes for drawings. Additionally, you will assist in determining project schedules and budgets, prepare permit applications and construction documents, and perform quality assurance/quality control of construction documents, technical specifications, and opinions of probable construction costs. Your ability to work both independently and collaboratively will be crucial in managing multiple design projects and meeting client deadlines.
