About The Position

Merrick & Company is looking for a Civil Designer II for our Denver Metropolitan area. Local candidates only. Pay range for this position is $34.00 - $42.00 per hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Merrick & Company is seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Designer II to support the planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, and surface water infrastructure projects across municipal, state, federal, commercial, and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate is capable of independently developing civil design plans and 3D models using advanced Autodesk Civil 3D workflows, while applying sound engineering principles and industry standards. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The Civil Designer II will contribute to both routine and non-routine assignments and play a key role in project execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) to years of AutoCAD/Civil 3D drafting experience.
  • Experience in municipal water and wastewater projects.
  • Associates Degree in Drafting, Graphic Design preferred or Technical College Certification or Equivalent Relevant Experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing drawings in Autodesk Revit is a plus.
  • Field experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce civil design drawings and models for water, wastewater, infrastructure projects
  • Prepare plan and profile drawings for: Water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems Stormwater and drainage systems
  • Design and draft site development elements including: Grading and road Improvements Yard piping and utilities Site layout, building sections, and process equipment sections
  • Apply advanced Civil 3D workflows to improve efficiency and quality
  • Exercise independent judgment in CAD standards, workflows, and design decisions
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and senior designers while providing technical guidance to junior staff
  • Support project setup and maintain consistency with company and client standards
  • Mentor and support junior designers, as appropriate
