About The Position

Kleinfelder's Design team is looking for a Civil Designer/Engineer for our Las Vegas office. The ideal candidate will participate in and contribute to a diverse range of engineering services in our team-oriented environment providing public and private clients with professional engineering services for roadway improvements, site development, water and wastewater conveyance systems and erosion mitigation and stormwater management. The work is often fast paced with multiple ongoing projects and deliverables, including a wide variety of tasks with competing priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills for working in multiple group settings, and a strong desire to learn, grow, and succeed.

Requirements

• Strong Civil 3D skills.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 6-10 years of related experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license required.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain Nevada PE within 6-12 months required.
• Local experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing Civil 3D Software: Creating construction plans, alignments, profiles, and grading features to produce engineered designs.
• Designing site layouts, earthwork, grading, storm drain, sanitary sewer, water, storm water management, pipe network modeling, and infrastructure for both private and public-sector clients.
• Preparing agency design submission packages for agency reviews and approvals.
• Leading project meetings with internal staff, clients, and agencies to ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
• Following client and internal design standards and procedures to deliver high-quality, accurate designs.
• Performing independent Quality Assessment/Quality Control reviews of other designer's work as needed.
