From bridge and structural engineering to civil, electrical, mechanical, and process engineering, Kleinfelder’s collaborative Design Services create synergy across multiple disciplines. Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Civil Designer/Engineer for our Las Vegas office. The ideal candidate will participate in and contribute to a diverse range of engineering services in our team-oriented environment providing public and private clients with professional engineering services for roadway improvements, site development, water and wastewater conveyance systems and erosion mitigation and stormwater management. The work is often fast paced with multiple ongoing projects and deliverables, including a wide variety of tasks with competing priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills for working in multiple group settings, and a strong desire to learn, grow, and succeed.

Requirements

  • Strong Civil 3D skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • 6-10 years of related experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain Nevada PE within 6-12 months required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in preparing construction specifications in Blue Book and/or CSI format a plus.
  • Local experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing Civil 3D Software: Creating construction plans, alignments, profiles, and grading features to produce engineered designs . A strong capability in grading design for site development, roadway corridors, and roadway modeling is required.
  • Design and Planning: Designing site layouts, earthwork, grading, storm drain, sanitary sewer, water, storm water management, pipe network modeling, and infrastructure for both private and public-sector clients.
  • Contract Documents: Prepare agency design submission packages for agency reviews and approvals. Experience in preparing construction specifications in Blue Book and/or CSI format a plus.
  • Project Coordination: Under the purview of the Project Manager, l eading project meetings with internal staff, clients, and agencies to ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring Compliance: Following client and internal design standards and procedures to deliver high-quality, accurate designs. Must be able to perform independent Quality Assessment/Quality Control reviews of other designer’s work as needed.
  • Problem Solving and Innovation : Applying creative and innovative solutions to meet the engineering needs of each project.
  • Collaborating with Project Teams: Working alongside civil engineers, project leaders, and other team members to develop and refine engineering designs.
  • Career Growth: Developing expertise in the site/civil design field while contributing to the firm’s ongoing growth and success in the market.
