About The Position

SCS Engineers is looking for a Design Engineer for our Orlando office to work on various civil, solid waste and environmental related projects. Projects focus on landfills and landfill infrastructure, solid waste management, and other similar type projects, which require AutoCAD skills, design, engineering, permitting, and construction inspections. This position may have the option for hybrid flexibility, but is expected to be in our Orlando office. How you can make an impact Coordinate and manage field work associated with their projects. Lead, mentor, and manage junior level staff. Delegate portions of project deliverables to staff for completion. Serve as the primary lead and point of contact for smaller scope projects. Prepare proposals and associated cost estimates. Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications related to paving, grading and drainage design. Write and prepare technical reports and proposals. Act as client liaison when needed by communicating with clients for field work coordination, project updates, reporting, design document status, permitting status, and meetings. Lead applicable permit processing/regulatory agency coordination efforts. Review technical documents to ensure completeness and conformance to requirements. Actively attends Trade Shows, presents on technical topics, and involved in professional associations and committees. Lead or have an active role in client prospecting and developing and executing client plans, sales plans, and key opportunity plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Science required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant environmental experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing required.

Nice To Haves

  • E.I.T. , Professional Engineer (P.E.) strongly preferred.
