Job Description: Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary. Protects and serves the community and properties of the County and County Judicial areas and personnel. Assist patrol with daily listed duties by responding to emergency dispatch calls, patrolling rural areas, ensuring buildings and residences are secure, and assisting other departments as needed. Be able to defuse/de-escalate situations with the public. Daily duties assigned but not limited to, serving civil warrants as well as arrest warrants, executing civil court orders, filing reports, maintaining education requirements, providing public relations functions for the community, and performing other duties as assigned. Investigative skills may be necessary for the daily functions of this position. The position may change shifts and work hours from time to time to assist with the missions of the department and the position. Special Certifications and Licenses: Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history. Requires Texas Basic Peace Officer license. TCOLE Peace Officer License required – Intermediate license TCOLE Licensed Jailer preferred Minimum of twelve months of Patrol (to include other LE agencies) Warrant service experience preferred Internal Apps must meet Criteria for Promotion as listed in I-B-3 Knowledge of Civil process and Writs along with having basic Civil Process class is preferred if candite doesn’t have the Basic Civil Process class it will be required with in 6 months of start date.
