Overview We are seeking a reliable Traffic Control Flagger to support a civil construction pipe project. The flagger will be responsible for maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow around active work zones, protecting workers, motorists, and pedestrians. This role requires attentiveness, clear communication, and adherence to safety procedures at all times. Key Responsibilities Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices including cones, signs, and barricades Direct and guide traffic safely through or around construction zones using stop and slow paddles Communicate clearly with equipment operators, truck drivers, and field crews to maintain safe operations Monitor job site conditions and adjust traffic control setups as needed based on activity and hazards Assist with pedestrian routing and public interactions when required Follow all state, municipal, and company traffic control guidelines and safety requirements Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment needs to the supervisor Support crew operations when traffic is not active, such as light site cleanup or material handling (as allowed) Qualifications Previous experience in traffic control or flagging preferred but not required Must possess or be able to obtain a certified flagger card (ATSSA or state approved) Ability to stand for long periods, work outdoors in all weather, and remain alert throughout the shift Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions Reliable transportation and punctuality required Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for the public and the crew Work Environment Outdoor construction setting near active traffic and heavy equipment Requires constant awareness of surroundings Work hours may include early mornings, extended shifts, or occasional weekends depending on project needs
